The unanswerable question is - starting new now - will it still be good in 3-4 years?Ī 4 year old camera or lens is no worse than new, but 4 year old software can be close to useless. What was a good option 3-4 years ago may not be now, and if you switch software the old may not communicate with the new :(
I cannot find a way to import any of my old LR 3.4 files across to look at and I`ve been ignored so far by DXO, any answers Fellas?
Portable nikon capture nx2 install#
Adobe Windows XP PRO as their main operating system to be told by Adobe that they no longer support XP PRO or Home editions and I`ve got to install Windows 7 or 8 before installing Lightroom 5, yeah right thats another £100 to pay out for the license from Windows as well as the upgrade to version 5, so stuff Adobe I`m looking at a trial version of DXO optic Pro 8 instead which does support XP Pro, only trouble is I`ve now found out with this software Quote:I find that Nik's SilverEfexPro2 is superb and, as mentioned, I use it completely from within Lightroom. If you have edited several images in, say, CS6 from within Lightroom - e.g. It enables high-quality photofinishing of images captured in RAW format whether on a Nikon D-SLR, Nikon 1 advanced camera with interchangeable lenses, or compatible COOLPIX compact camera¹. Naturally, your original Raw file is unaltered. Capture NX-D is a software application developed to allow users to enjoy full-scale development of RAW images with simple operations. When finished, click on that program's "Save" tag and your edited image will be saved as a Tiff next to your original image in Lightroom. Click on the program of your choice and the image will open in that program. A list of all the available programs will appear (depending upon which you have installed, obviously). In either Library or Develop modules, right-click on an image or thumbnail and go to "edit in". I did not know that other software could be used from within LR, including Adobe's own CS software. I find that Nik's SilverEfexPro2 is superb and, as mentioned, I use it completely from within Lightroom.
